Common questions
What does a project management consultant do?
A project management consultant leads projects and change from the client side. Scope, programme, budget and the contractors or teams doing the work are owned in one place, with regular reporting to the business. Operion Group provides this as an independent project management company for manufacturing, logistics and automotive businesses.
Which service is the right fit?
It isn’t always clear at the start and many problems span more than one. The operational diagnostic exists for that reason: 3 days of review, then a written action plan showing the causes and which service fits.
Where is the work carried out?
Work follows a hybrid approach, on site across Yorkshire and the Midlands from Leeds to Birmingham, with planning and reporting carried out remotely between visits. Businesses further afield are welcome too, with site visits and remote work planned to suit the project.
Which industries are covered?
Manufacturing, logistics, distribution and automotive production, including OEMs and their suppliers.
How is the work priced?
The operational diagnostic is a fixed £2,450. Scoped engagements are priced as a project fee and interim roles are charged at a day rate, both agreed before work starts.
Can services be combined?
Yes. Larger programmes often need more than one, such as a site relocation that also moves stock, systems and people onto new ways of working. One project manager covers all of it.
How is AI used?
As a tool for the work around delivery, such as reporting, document review and planning, so more time goes on site and with the team. Decisions and delivery stay with an experienced human project manager.
